New Website Launched for Client– Girdlers Grind

Girdlers Grind, a cafe in Dee Why with its own boutique line of coffee, came to us this year for a brand overhaul. We took on the task with enthusiasm and helped shape their new identity to what it is today. Throughout the process we have added value to their brand presence in the marketplace, and online.

Just recently we launched their new website. The brief was: 'Something different to every other coffee website'. Of course we love a challenge, so set out to create a unique online experience for coffee lovers abroad.

It is exciting to watch a brand evolve while being a part of the cultivating process. Girdlers Grind has been one of satisfaction to both observe and be involved with. Check out their new site and let us know what you think!

A Momentous Farewell...

Recenlty, we had to say goodbye to our receptionist (Jody) who had been with us for just over 3 months. This was both a sad yet joyous occasion for Jody and the team. The reason being is because during her stay here at Cyberbia, she had set a personal goal to get a bullseye on the dart board, resulting in her victoriously writing her name on the Cyberbian Bullseye Wall of Fame.

On her last day here in the office, we were all determined to see her reach this goal! We spent the afternoon lightening the mood by all joining in on a friendly (or deadly) game of darts we like to call 'Killers'. After this seemingly endless game (thanks to Tony's shifty rules), we thought it was time for Jody to get her bullseye.

After 20 minutes of cheering, motivational pep talks, sighing, laughing and almost crying from the amount of close calls and not so close calls... we started blaring only the most appropriate tune for such a nail-biting moment (Eye of the Tiger). A few minutes later, suddenly the whole office erupted with victory dances and shouts!

Bullseye!

It was great working with you Jody and we wish you the best of luck in this next phase of life. Thanks for leaving your mark on our Wall of Fame!

Digital Publishing – Mobile Content Is King

With the popularity of tablet devices going through the roof, companies are looking at how to best maximise their content for this arena. Cyberbia have been working closely with Adobe on the latest release of their pluggedin newsletter for the iPad and Android. Using the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite we have taken what has previously been an e-newsletter and transformed it into an engaging interactive digital magazine.

We are very excited about the endless possibilities and where digital publishing is headed.

Facebook Apps

The month of May has seen some exciting and busy times here at Cyberbia! One of the latest additions to our repertoire – Facebook apps, as seen above – has been a main contributor to the buzz. This particular app was created for the Adobe ANZ Facebook page with the purpose to encourage Facebook users to view and 'like' the Adobe ANZ page, while driving their audience to get involved and engage in a competition. So far it has been a great success, with the number of 'likes' increasing everyday since the promotion has started.

Jody Writes Her First Blog

Officially a Cyberbian, as they call it, I started working here on the 4th of April and I am pleased to say that today, I have made a break through. I have learnt at least one of the most important things there is to know (that is aside from learning the job of course). It has taken a few weeks to crack the code but today I finally learnt how to use the coffee machine; thanks to a lot of help from Heidi. Next time it’s all me: Put the coffee thinggy in, add the milk, press the button and then poor the milk- how hard could it be? Before you know it I will be a pro.

This lively bunch here at Cyberbia makes the day go fast; there isn’t a day that has passed so far where something they do or say hasn't made me laugh. This could be heavily related to the lingo they all use and the simple reply of “yup” to an email. The conversations at the lunch table are especially intriguing; “so what’s for lunch today?” “Toasted cheese sandwich.” “Nice.”

So two weeks has passed and I have learnt how to use the coffee machine, heavily rely on Google or a dictionary to translate a few things here and there and, you guessed it, I know all of their names.

In this time, Cyberbia has realised that I can’t throw a frisbee, I'm not so crash hot at darts, and I could be better at reverse snap.

Each and every Cyberbian is different to the next; I look forward to getting to know them all properly.

All this in two weeks, imagine what’s to come …
